Great News!!

Just before my very first trip to Barcelona to see Dr Martinez and before I started my magic medicine, I had a test done on my eyes called electrophysiology.  This test showed that I was completely blind, as there were no positive responses from my eyes at any point of the test.  In December 2007…a few months after my first trip to Barcelona…the tests were done again, unfortunately for whatever reason we did not get the results until Yesterday!  But…it was amazing news on the second test, clear positive responses were recorded from my eyes!!!  We saw a lovely doctor at the hospital yesterday his name was Dr Bowman and he explained that my sight is still very poor and I should still be registered blind but he was happy to let me try Glasses as I am seeing something!!!  My mummy and daddy and everyone around me have all been certain for a long time that I have been seeing something and to find out that that IS the case was an amazing day for everyone!! There was lots of excitement and lots of tears…not pointing any elbows Granda lol!

So in about two weeks time I’ll be trying out my very own glasses!!! Not bad eh??!! 

It truly is another Wee Millie Miracle!

So my lovely Doctor…Fiona Cameron arranged it so she could take the blood samples localy to save us travelling to Hospitals and she also arranged for them to be sent to Dr Martinez at no cost to my Mummy and Daddy which is one less thing for them to worry about…Thank you Fiona!!!

My last blood sample was taken and sent last Monday 23rd February, so we are now patiently waiting on the results! Fingers crossed!!!!

TUESDAY…

On Tuesday afternoon My Auntie Yvonne was looking after me and when I eventually got out of bed  we went for a walk with my friends Rosie and Elliot and their Aunties from Robin house…it was great fun!

Oh that was tiring stuff I think I’m ready for dinner Auntie Yvonne!

After my dinner had settled my Auntie Yvonne gave me a nice relaxing bath in the BIG bath with all the bubbles! I LOVE bubbles!!

Do you like my chair?  it’s called the Irn-bru chair because of its colours, I love it, it’s so cosy!

This is me and my Auntie Yvonne after my bath, I’m all dried and ready to go back to my room, I’m on the big wheely bed that takes me from my room to the bathroom, it’s fun too!

That’s me all nice and fresh, Jammies on and ready for bed!

At Robin House I have my very own room and my very own bed! It’s HUGE!!

I love it sooo much!  My room is always ready for me when I arrive with all my favourite things in it.  There are always cool twinkly lights in my room, I love twinkly lights!! My bed always has covers with my favourite cartoon characters on them (these ones are winniethe pooh!)  and there are always pictures on the walls of all my favourite things and pictures on the walls of different things I have done at Robin House on my other visits, there are some pictures of the first day I met Amber!  Amber is a lovely big doggy who comes to Robin House to play with all the boys and girls, it’s lots of fun!  She runs and catches toys that the bigger boys and girls throw for her and for little ones like me she sits nice and lets us give her big cuddles!  I can’t see or hear very well so the first time I met her she lay down in front of me and let me put my bare toes on her back!  It was so cool! and tickly!!

WEDNESDAY…

This is me and Auntie Lyndsay, she was looking after me on Wednesday x

This is something that my mummy really wants everyone to see…most days I get very unsettled in the mornings and don’t stop until later on in the afternoon, it can go on for hours.  I am a very fragile wee thing lol! So when I am like this it takes a wee while to feed me and dress me.  When I get really upset I can sometimes choke a little (or a lot)  because I don’t have much control over my throat muscles and this can be very upsetting for me so my mummy and daddy have to be very careful and be very gentle with me.  On Tuesday and Wednesday morning I was like this…a wee bit unsettled   Above is auntie Lyndsay who at this point had been sitting with me for an hour and a half on the sofa in my room! (yip! you heard me right - SOFA in my room! how posh am I???)  My mummy would just like everyone to know what it means for me to go to Robin house, here it is like a home from home.  I get the exact same care here as I do at home and that includes cuddles!!!  It means so much for My mummy, daddy and my big brother and sisters to see that no matter what I get up to, no matter who is looking after me, I always get the same love, care and attention as they give me at home so this makes it easier for them to relax and enjoy their wee break too!!

Auntie Lyndsay took me painting! it was my very first time!!!  This is me all ready to Paint!!!

On the Wednesday afternoon my mummy had Reflexology treatment from Maggie one of the volunteers at Robin House, she was so relaxed afterwards she fell asleep for nearly THREE hours!!! When she woke up she came looking for me and I was in the Snoezelen with Auntie Lynn!  There are sooo many lovely lights in there I love it!! I could spend all day in there!

Wow this is cool!  I am lying on a water bed too! Thats extra fun!!!

Aw this is sooo much fun and there is cool music playing too! My mummy tries to sing along lol!  Just a weeee bit out of tune!…don’t tell her i told you lol!!!

Well after all that playtime, its time to get ready for bed!!

Daddy came to give me and mummy a surprise visit on Wednesday night! It was a big surprise!!!

Thank you Auntie Lyndsay we will never forget this day!!!  My mummy is going to frame it! She was sooo excited I thought she was going to frame ME never mind my picture!!! lol!!!

Well that was lots of fun! I am going back in March, I can’t wait!! We’re counting the days already!!

Hi Everyone!

There are lots of things going on at the moment and I just thought I would fill you all in…

For a wee while now I have been a bit grumpy whenever I am being moved (grumpy is an understatement but we don’t want to be too dramatic we might scare you lol!!),  My mummy and daddy and my physio (the bestest Claire McMurray!!!) have been feeling for some time that I am feeling pain and on one of our visit’s to Robin house a couple of the nurses thought so too, whether it is being dressed, undressed, lifted to go outside or change my position…whenever I am being moved or lifted, every possible way and motion has been used when handling me but even when no-one is near I can scream for hours at a time. 

Lately my bones have been more clicky than ever before…I have always been a bit double jointed…(my daddy says I get that from my big sisters Megan and Shannon, they can do weird things with their elbows!!!!)  but lately my joints have been moving too far and almost out of place :O so It was suggested by Dr Martinez that I see a bone specialist and Claire and my lovely Doctor – Fiona Cameron agreed that this maybe the way to go…just to be on the safe side…It is not obvious that there is a problem with my bones but under the circumstances they feel that getting them checked won’t do any harm so now we just wait on the appointment to come through

There has also been an application put through to send me to Nursery!! Yeahhh I am so excited!!  I don’t think my mummy is though  she’s a bit obsessed…she needs a hobby lol!!  It was suggested before I had my tummy tube operation last year that I may go to nursery when I was two but I was very ill at that point so it was put to the side until a later date and that later date was just before Christmas 2008 when it was suggested again…poor mummy she’s going to miss me soooo much but I am going to have a ball!!!…so thats something else that we’re waiting on too.

There are lots of other wee things, poor Dr Cameron has her hands full with me lol!! but those are the main ones at the moment.

Well that’s all for now…

Next week…hopefully I will have lots of lovely photo’s for you, I am off to Robin House with my mummy for a few days, I have lots of fun there I can’t wait!  I am very well looked after at Robin House and my mummy gets a chance to let someone else take the reigns for a while (well she’s meant to lol!!)

Hi everyone!  I would like you all to meet my wee friend Freja Bergner!

When my mummy, daddy and I were on our 3rd trip to see Dr Martinez in Barcelona in October 2008 we met a lovely little girl named Freja, she was 16 months old at the time of our visit.   Freja was with her mummy and daddy too and they were also there to see Dr Martinez. 

It is a wee shame, because Freja also has the same smelly Zellwegers as me!

Freja is sooo cute!  My mummy said that she had lots of smiles and stories while I was having a wee snooze!  I just can’t help it, it is such hard work at that Hospital  lol!!!

On our last day there, we were at the Hospital at the same time, and we got the train back together to the area in Barcelona where we were all staying and the mums and dads had a wee coffee and a blether.  My mummy and daddy enjoyed talking to Elin and Jacob (Freja’s mummy and daddy) as they are going through a similar journey to us and Freja and I have very similar symptoms so they had lots to talk about!!  Our mummy’s e-mail each other and swap stories, my mummy’s never off the computer now my daddy doesn’t know what’s happening lol!!!    

On our last day Freja’s mummy took lots of lovely photo’s of us all outside Dr Martinez’s Lab just outside the Hospital, here they are….

…Still sleeping!! I’m telling you it’s really exhausting stuff in Barcelona heeeheee!!!

This is Freja and her mummy and daddy with the lovely Dr Martinez, we just love her to bits!!  She looks after us very well on our visits!!

These were all taken just outside Dr Martinez’s Lab where we were collecting our supply of DHA for our Journey home.    We really enjoyed meeting Freja and her mummy and daddy and we look forward to seeing them again one day!
